TJ JAWORSKY WRESTLING ACADEMY OVERVIEW

 This intensive training is designed specifically for the individual wrestler.  Portions of the training will be broken into groups to focus on specific wrestler needs.  This academy will also feature live competition as well as one-on-one instruction.  Additionally, we feature tours, talks, tournaments, etc., which will guarantee successful training for any young wrestler who aspires to be better.

 

LEG WRESTLING

 Basic fundamentals of legs and turning with legs.  Leg turns are becoming more popular in today’s style of wrestling.  Emphasis will be on set-ups, riding, pinning and defending against the legs.

 

LEG TAKEDOWNS

 Still the most effective takedown in today's wrestling is the single let, double leg and high crotch series.  Learn all of the latest set-ups and finish positions.

 

OTHER TAKEDOWNS

 Develop you takedown technique with upper body throws, snaps, ducks and fireman's carry, front head locks, etc.  Round out your takedown attack.

 

RIDING AND PINNING

 Learn to break your opponent off his base and turn him onto his back.  The latest techniques such as the inside tilt and spiral ride are taught along with other pinning series.

 

ESCAPES AND REVERSALS

 This is probably the most difficult area to master for all ages of wrestlers.  Hand control, working base, control of arms and legs is stressed along with set-ups, finishes and combinations.

 

FREESTYLE

 Scoring, tilts from all positions, takedowns and Greco-Roman is taught.  Adapt your style for summer wrestling tournaments.

 

TJ Jaworsky Wrestling Academy - INTENSIVE TRAINING

 It takes a unique desire and commitment to excellence to become a champion.  That's why we have now designed a 3 day program that will combine technical instruction, structured drill sessions, combative wrestling and strength training.  Every session will be handled with the same thoroughness we apply to our own team practices.  In addition, special sessions on important areas of sports science, such as mental preparation, goal setting and nutrition will be addressed.  Designed for the serious wrestler, the TJ Jaworsky Wrestling Academy will teach wrestlers how to prepare themselves physically as well as mentally to win the big matches as well as everyday life challenges.
